2. Surgical Recommendations
- Recommended insertion instrument: AOS Forceps (Item # Z60770)
- Requires the CI24RE Surgical Kit (Item # Z60523)
- Carefully remove the round window overhang to clearly identify the true round window membrane before opening the cochlea
- During electrode insertion, the surgical handle should face inferiorly while the electrode is advanced smoothly in a single controlled motion
- Use the free hand to stabilize the stylet and carefully advance the electrode until the appropriate silastic marker reaches the cochlear opening
- After completely removing the stylet, stabilize the lead and electrode array to minimize movement before releasing the AOS forceps
3. CI522 Cochlear Implant
The Cochlear™ Nucleus® Profile Series, including the CI522 implant, features a slim and discreet implant design developed to sit comfortably against the natural curvature of the head. Its low-profile design can provide an aesthetically discreet solution for cochlear implant recipients, including both children and adults.
